New 'Lite' Products Launched By Abbey

[F and N Flutes]

Abbey Corrugated the UK's leading sheet feeder is launching a new range of "lite" products and two new flutes.

The two new flutes are 'F' - with a width of 750 microns and 'N' with a width of 500 microns, are being introduced to further increase the range of products and services which the company offers to its growing portfolio of customers. Trials are already under way and products should be available later this year.

"These two new flutes are primarily aimed at applications which up to now have been the preserve of solid board," said managing director Bob McLellan.

"The surface finish and printability of both grades is fantastic and we are sure customers will be extremely impressed when they see samples. Both will accept the highest quality print so customers can now offer a much wider range of finished products themselves.

"We shall be launching these grades with a wide range of papers so that they will be available for all of our customer requirements. We are targeting N flute in particular towards the carton litho market, but we also believe that this is a prime opportunity for our sheet plant customers to compete against litho printers in different markets so that in effect we are offering you the chance to expand your own marketplace.

"In addition to their technical qualities, these new grades will of course be offered with the same high level of service which has become the hallmark of Abbey in recent times. This will mean that our customers will be able to order specific sizes and of course the delivery lead time will be short.

"We can offer the most competitive prices, a full service technical back up and direct deliveries on time - and our customers can expect the best quality of board."

In addition to the two new flutes, Abbey also plan to offer a "lite" version of a range of other grades and boards.

"We have recognised for some time that customers may need to quote lighter weight boards for certain applications, and we have the technology to supply lighter versions of various grades of board," added Bob.
